Doc Waters SWIVEL HOOK:
In addition to weighting your lure, the Doc Waters SWIVEL HOOK is designed to
reduce line twist, increase your leverage when fighting a fish and impart an erratic
action to your lure as you twitch it through the water.
Note that the Gamakatsu hook is shorter at the base of the weight. As a result,
when rigging your lure, insert the barb end of the hook into head of the lure
and exit the lure about 1/8 inch down the body. Twist the hook around to position
the barb to enter the body of the lure so the lure will hang straight on the hook.
To rig the lure weedless, tuck the barb back into the side of the lure body. Certain
lure shapes and sizes will be more difficult to rig on our hook. We always suggest
putting a drop of "Krazy" Glue on the base of the Swivel Hook to help keep your
lure in its premium rigging position.
If line twist is still a problem, remove hook and lure from your line, release
your bail, and drag the line behind your boat. Drag enough line to accommodate
your longest cast. If this does not solve the problem, we suggest you re-spool
with fresh line which will not have the "memory" of your reel spool to affect
the twist. A properly rigged lure is shown below. |
